About ANYScape
Leader author and founder of ANYScape Role Playing Games Daniel Jankus is from Fairfax, Virginia. He grew up playing games such as Dungeons and Dragons, Fallout, and Traveller, both in table-top and video game formats. He fell in love with role-playing games, and has explored numerous different settings and systems. All of them were great in some ways, but lacking in others. Besides, if you want to run a Sci-Fi game, it takes a lot of effort to adapt systems such as D&D, and often times you just end up learning a whole new system. Meet ANYScape: an RPG system designed from the ground-up to be portable to any setting, while remaining grounded in reality. No new rules across settings, no relearning, just jump right in and play. To avoid putting all of the onus on the player, we also have released a variety of settings to choose from, each with their own associate book and adventures. Don’t see what you want? Armageddon
A near-future post-apocalyptic fantasy
In the year 2186, mankind had achieved a peace like never before. Standing militaries had been outlawed, with every country allowed a reserve defense force. Most military equipment had either been recycled, or sat decaying in garages, waiting to never be used again. Nuclear disarmament had been slow, but was rapidly picking up, with excess nuclear material being used in power plants that have almost entirely replaced fossil fuels. Crime rates had dwindled, and it seemed that the world could not get any better. As a planet, citizens watched on July 16th, gazing at the sky together at history’s longest solar eclipse, expected to lasting almost 8 minutes. Families curled up together, glasses on, looking up into the heavens and their future.
Nobody is sure what happened, but out of the darkness they came. Not a soul on Earth was prepared for them, and none could have been. They waded into the packed streets, slaughtering people where they stood. It is estimated that the world’s population was decreased from 9 billion to 6 billion in the span of a few hours. The survivors would refer to this day as Armageddon, and rightly so. On this day, hideous Aberrations not of this world entered ours, and it would seem that they were going to take it for themselves.
Twenty years have passed. The survivors scrape by in any way they can, and new communities have formed in the ashes of the old. You have the drive and purpose to make a difference in this deadly, ruined world.
